The Burnley and Pendle Scooter Club run to Rawtenstall, it was just one of those events that i really wanted to attend, I'd had some fantastic nights in the 1980's at their legendry Scooter Club night outs, so felt the favour should be repayed by riding through for the day, glad i did as the standard of Scooters in this neck of the woods is obviously very high as you can see in the photo's, the other thing i recall from the day was the throttle cable snapping on the way home and a pack of bikers on Trikes and Choppers pulling over to give assistance to my stricken Lambretta, beleive you me that would not of happened in the 1980's,
A handful of pics here, firstly from Whitby, i love Whitby but this year the rally was a bit chilly to say the least, the Police even shut the moorland road to the town on the Saturday afternoon due to heavy snowfall and diverted any one brave enough to carry on to Scarborough and the coast road, so not many pics for this one, the others are from the Knaresborough/York rally and a special mention to the Blackpool lads who road over for this one day event.
A few pics here from a meet at the Selby Moving Targets HQ, certainly a very active and friendly club and worth checking their website if you fancy meeting up with them on their regular rideouts.
Here's some from Yeadon, always an event i liked, probably because it was nearly always sunny, remember this day well as my mate broke down and when we went back to find him my petrol pipe split, but every cloud has a silver lining this one being in the shape of the Castle Coasters back up van who had picked up my mates GP, which i then quickly looted for its petrol pipe, thank you Coasters and Arthur....
Pudsey, not the bear but the Yorkshire town of the same name, got to this run a bit late due to the above mentioned Lambretta, as i remember there was a bit of a buzz going round about one of the lads out of an up and coming band being present, do'nt know if they ever made the big time or not, doubt it, unless anyones heard of the Kaiser Cheifs, nah did'nt think so...
We are the Mods, or we are the Untouchables should I say, some lovely old Scoots at Scarborough, especially the flower power to the people right on,!!!
A day out at the Hull and District Rally, that's me old mate Freddie sat on his Scoot below and the man to thank for the 1970's pics on this site, so there you go, thank's Fred.
