No real introductions needed for this Rally , the L.C.G.B Rally to the Cumby arms, and first up the legendry GP 200 ''Furry Beast''
A couple of nice custom Lambretta's from Whitby getting the once over and fingermarked chrome by the unofficial Regatta judges..
And another couple of pic's, outside the Eastfield pub, taken when some of the Linconshire clubs came up to Scarborough for the weekend.
The annual sunshine Rally to the Leeds Crusaders, think it's only ever rained once in all the times i went, as usual some lovely Scooters on display, favourite Scoot of the day was the Quadrophenia Vespa, favourite photo was a toss up between the GP which got hooked up on the sandbank and made a smokescreen that my engine would of been proud of, or the one below which was totally unintentional as i never noticed the sign behind until i got the pic's developed, ....
Another good event for anyone of a Lambretta disposition is the Hull and District S.C rally, always a good turnout at this event and before any one complains, yes, Vespa's are more than welcome too.
FULL CIRCLE, 25 years almost to the day that i hit Britains roads with a Vespa which was customised with a black spray can and chrome effect sticky tape i was offered the chance to buy my mates Vespa P200E as he was going all modern and upgrading to the latest auto Vespa 250,
Call it Nostalgia or was i just sick of paying out the overinflated prices which seem to go hand in hand with the word Lambretta, i don't know really, but buy it i did and a lovely Scooter it is too....
The test ride, although i had ridden the Scooter to the Leeds Crusaders event in August, it was hardly a test run as 40 miles down the A64 is more mind numbingly boring than anything else, so when i got to hear that the Lancashire Alliance were camping out in the Lake district i decided to take the scenic route to Great Langdale up above Lake Windemere, a fantastic day out to a beautiful part of the Country, oh and the Vespa ran fine..
And finally for this year, Wetherby, just a whistle stop call for me as i Scooted across to see the ride out set off for Tadcaster, as far as i remember this was my last event in 2007 as we moved house and the rest of the year was spent with a big paintbrush, for the house not the Scooter you understand..
