2001
Bit lacking in pictures for 2001, can't decide if i was babysitting for the summer, did'nt take many pics or there's still a 2001 photo album up in the attic, either way here's what i've got in no particular order, starting off with a Darlo Rally.
Next up the road to Scarborough and the popular meeting place of AF Rayspeed, the 2 widestyles in the pic below were built and sprayed by my mate Steve, the series 2 went on to become the custom bike Golden Years, as for the series 1, it was the smartest colour i'd ever seen on a Scooter and a few years ago decided to have my GP done the same, trouble is between Steve telling me the colour and me ordering the paint I managed to forget what he said, but one day that colour will be mine, one day......
Cleethorpes next, must apologise for so many pics of the Scoot below ''SHOCK'' but it was a beautiful Scooter when i first saw it in the 1980s, it was red then , but this incarnation of the Scooter was even better , be nice to know if the Scooter is still out there still in this colour or a reworked version?
The Run to the Mills event, held in West Yorkshire and really well attended, think it may of been at the same venue as the York/Scunthorpe event of 2000 but i've had a few pints since then so may be mistaken.
The season draws to a close with the traditional Bridington Show,
And finally something a bit different, a telephone call asking if i would be available to do a bit of film work on my Scooter, did'nt need asking twice in those days, turned out the BBC were doing a programme in which 100mph Lambretta man Stuart Owen would race a Ferrari, we were glad to help as we'd all known Stuart for years through the L.C.G.B, though in the early days you could of called him 60mph Lambretta as he travelled the country on an immaculate SX150, a good day out was had by all, I personally never saw the footage till 2008 when it appeared on youtube and i notice they did'nt show the presenter Mary Anne Hobbs constantly stalling Stuarts Scooter, mind you she was forgiven just for wearing those leathers.
