1986 and the bubble bursts on the Scooter Scene, for a number of years there had been an ongoing argument about outside promoters trying to run the Scooter runs, two decades later and some would say that they still are, at one point we attended two meetings one in Morecambe and one in Stafford to decide where the next years runs were to take place, do'nt know who decided but we went anyhow, but to cut a long story short by August Bank Holiday the Scooter Scene imploded and by 1987 a new era in Scootering began.
The first pics are as usual Knaresborough in the rain, why did'nt we go somewhere else for a change.?
Bit of a change this Easter, out went the traditional Scarborough or Morecambe rallies to be replaced by a wet and wild Great Yarmouth. The wet being the weather, the wild being the Sunday night Scooter do in Tiffanys nightclub where even the Reggae Star Desmond ''ISREALITES'' Decker had to run for it when someone tried to attack him on stage, Personally i was out the fire escape before the second punch [nobodys hero me] not really a good start to the Scooter season, On the plus side we met some lads from Tadcaster on the way there who a couple of years later were to reform the Tadcaster Stax S.C and are still friends with to this day.
May Bank Holiday and we head for Morecambe again, I think I went to so many Rallies to Morecambe in the 1980s early 90s that they my memories are all blending into one, judging by the photos it must of rained as much in the summer of 1986 as it did in 2007.
